I run Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. I have the Auto-Lock set to Never, but it locks after a variable number of idle hours and I have to enter my password.

  • Hello @Giuseppe123! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into issues with auto-lock and 1Password. Is it the 1Password browser extension that is locking, the desktop app, or both at the same time? Can you also tell me the following:

    1. Is "Lock when computer locks:" turned off in the 1Password app's Security settings?
    2. Is it possible that you previously completely closed 1Password, or restarted your PC, when you notice that 1Password is locked?

I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

Thank you. I seldom use the app, most of the times I only use the extension in Chrome (1Password – Password Manager 2.14.1). The lock is unpredictable, I have Chrome on all the times. Yes I have Lock when computer locks turned off.

  • Hello again @Giuseppe123,

Thanks for your reply and letting us know that Lock when computer locks is turned off. We can rule out that if the device sleep during the idle time, 1Password for Windows is not locking due to this setting.

I seldom use the app, most of the times I only use the extension in Chrome (1Password – Password Manager 2.14.1).

The 1Password for Windows desktop app and browser extension can be integrated so that the extension will rely on current lock state of the desktop app. Could you confirm this setting is enabled?
    1. Open your browser, right-click the 1Password icon in the address bar, and choose Settings.
    1. Under the General heading, enable Integrate with 1Password app as needed.

If that setting was not enabled, does this help and allow both the app and extension to stay unlocked for the duration you've set in the app itself?

Let us know how this goes!
