The moment you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! Passkey support is now available in 1Password, letting you create, manage, and sign in with passkeys on a growing number of websites and apps.

You can now save & sign in with passkeys on iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 devices.

There's no better time than now to get started with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, and others turning on capabilities for passkeys this summer.

Visit our online passkey directory or open Watchtower in 1Password to discover which of your logins can be upgraded with a passkey.

Ready to get started?

Here’s what you need to start using passkeys on your iPhone or iPad:

Next, find a site or app that supports passkeys. You can do this by browsing our passkey directory, or by opening Watchtower in 1Password, which now flags all of your existing logins that could be updated with a passkey.

Locate the site or app's sign in page or button and follow the prompts to create a passkey. 1Password will ask which account and vault you’d like to save it in.

Visit our support site for detailed instructions on how to save and sign in with iOS passkeys on your iPhone or iPad.

  • Please note: While 1Password is ready to support passkey authentication in iOS native apps, we are aware of an issue on iOS 17 that impacts users from being able to save and use passkeys to sign in. We are anticipating this to be fixed in future iOS releases. Using passkeys to save and sign in to participating sites on mobile Safari will continue to work as communicated.
