Namecheap Passkey

Hello!

I'm trying to setup a passkey for Namecheap. https://www.namecheap.com/

As far as I can tell, I saved the passkey successfully to 1Password. Then, when trying to sign in again, the prompt appears and after clicking sign in, the site just spins forever.

See the gif below. Not sure if there is anything I can do to resolve this?

I'm sorry that you're running into trouble with passkeys on the Namecheap website. Our developers are aware of the issue and we have an internal work item open to investigate further.

For now, I recommend that you delete the saved passkey from both the Namecheap website and from 1Password and use your previous authentication method: Delete a passkey

At this stage, we don't have an update to share regarding this issue. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, and I'm truly sorry for any interruption in your workflow caused by this.

Hello, I can use passkey to log in to namecheap on my iPhone of ios17.2. But when using safari on mac, I cannot use passkey to log in to namecheap.

Hey @SiweiLi, thank you for your reply. Yes, that is the issue we have reported and our development team is still investigating.

I apologize that I don't have any great workarounds at the moment other than to disable the U2F Key from the account, remove the passkey from your Namecheap Login item and use TOTP (one-time password) instead.
