Domain auto-fill rule issue

I checked the "Populate only when this domain is an exact match" box, and I filled in the domain name as https://plex.example.com, but the item also pops up when I visit https://example.plex.example.com. Is this expected behavior or a bug?

I'm using 1Password for Windows 8.10.18 (81018040)

  • Hello @Vemi,

    Thanks for reaching out! I did some testing on my end, but haven't been able to recreate the same behaviour.

    I set the Login item to "fill on this exact domain" for "https://plex.example.com" and it didn't show up as a suggestion on "https://example.plex.example.com". Here's a short video demonstrating this -> https://share.cleanshot.com/qLTxYXqJ.

    Just to check, are there multiple websites saved in the Login item? Was the autofill behaviour "fill on this exact domain" set on all of the URL's attached to the Login item?

    I look forward to hearing back from you, @Vemi.

    Hello @EvonG1P
    I apologize for the confusion caused by using the example domain to illustrate the issue. I was unable to reproduce the problem on example.com as I had mentioned.
    You can see a more specific problem in the screenshot.

  • Hey @Vemi,

    Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the screenshot you shared, it's very helpful.

    It appears that the login item's default autofill behaviour is set to "https://app.plex.tv", that can also fill on subdomains and related websites. If you edit the "https://app.plex.tv" autofill behaviour to "only fill on this exact domain" does that help?

    Let me know how that goes.

    This completely solves the problem, thank you @EvonG1P
    But I guess this should also be considered a bug, right? After all, the domain I accessed is completely different from plex.tv

    @Vemi

    You're correct. It is a known issue we're working on. When there are multiple websites saved in an item, the intended autofill behavior won't be followed if one of the websites has the default autofill behavior.

    I'm sorry about the confusion it caused.
