Migrating from 1Password 7 to 8/Safari asks permission each time website access

I just upgraded from 1Password 7 to 8. Very smooth transition with one exception.

When I access a website from Safari for first time since upgrade, when I click on extension i menu bar, it always asks me if I want to connect to website, giving permission for 1 day, always, etc. Is there a setting that I missed, that allows access to all websites for which I have user names and passwords in 1Password?

Thanks.

1Password Version: 8.10.18
Extension Version: 2.16
OS Version: 14.1
Browser: Safari

  • Hello @Bobalaska! 👋

I'm sorry for the frustration. For a smoother experience with 1Password for Safari, please follow these steps:

    1. Open Safari.
    2. Click on Safari next to the  in the menu bar.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click Websites.
    5. Scroll down and then click on "1Password for Safari".
    6. Make sure that all of the websites listed are set to "Allow".
    7. Make sure that "For other websites:" is set to "Allow" as well.

Let me know if that doesn't improve the situation. 🙂

Thanks, Dave. All of the open websites were set to "Allow." "For other websites" was set to "ask." so I changed that to "Allow." I will let you know how it goes. Thanks.
