Unable to add 2FA for my Samsung Account - invalid PIN

When I scan the QR code or enter the One Time Password that is shown when I try to enable 2FA in my Samsung account.
https://v3.account.samsung.com/dashboard/security/two-step-verification
1Password picks it up and shows the pin, when entered in Samsung it shows as invalid.
Can't figure out why it is not working.

After doing it again and again, it went through.
    Not sure what went wrong

  • Hey @Orado, thanks for reaching out.

I'm glad to hear you were able to add your account eventually.

You mentioned that the 1Password was picking up and showing the PIN, but it wasn't being accepted on the Samsung side. Have you noticed any 2FA issues with any other websites/applications?

If so, it would be worth checking if the time is the accurate on all of your devices. 2FA is very time-sensitive, so any drift in time on any of your devices could cause the authenticator codes to be rejected.

A good resource that makes it easy to check this is the following website:

It's really important the times not differ by any more than 30 seconds, since this is the validity period of your one-time password.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

No, this is the first time this happened.
All time on my devices is synced through NTP and correct.

  • Hi Orado, thanks for checking this and letting us know.

Hopefully all continues to work well from here, however if you run into any further issues with 2FA, don't hesitate to reach back out and we'll be happy to help troubleshoot further 😄
