edited December 2023 in Windows

Hi. This was reported years ago but I am seeing my dates as MM/DD/YYYY despite being UK locale on windows desktop app. If I click edit it shows correctly as DD/Mm/YYY. On the Android app it shows as YYY-MM-DD.

I really messed up and applied for a visa with wrong passport expiry date so this is extremely bad. Seems to be true of all date type fields.

Is there sme setting to change this? I checked my region is UK on windows.

  • Hey @theferret, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry that this issue resulted in an error on your visa application.

At the moment,1Password's date formats change based on the Windows display language setting in Windows. For example, when your display language is English (US), this will be MM/DD/YYYY, while English (UK) will be DD/MM/YYYY.

If your regional format is set to English (UK), the Windows display language setting may not match that by default - can you verify what your display language is set to?

Our developers are currently looking into making sure that date formats are better handled, although I'm not yet able to provide a timeline on this. I do apologize for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.

That is unbelievably daft that the display language can be different to your region setting!!!! Yes my display language was US and Region UK. However all dates everywhere were correctly set except in 1Password. I didnt even know there was a display language. i recently upgraded to Win11 then downgraded so seems it kept my region but reset the display language. Maybe you should use region NOT display language or maybe check they arent different. Now fixed thanks

  • Hi @theferret, I'm glad to hear that fixed things for you!

Our team will continue to work on making improvements in this area.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
