Reset Master PW for Family Members - How does it work?

I read that as a family organizer, I can recover/ reset PW for my family members who is riding on my 1Password Family package.

I wanted to know technically, how does that work (do I store their secret key + something else)?

And does that mean, technically, the only dooms day scenario is I should keep a printed copy of my Emergency Kit in our physical safe since the rest can always recover through me (as Family Organizer)?

In case you want to know how to use recovery:
    https://support.1password.com/recovery/

In case you want to know how account recovery is implemented:
    https://1passwordstatic.com/files/security/1password-white-paper.pdf
See chapter "Recovery groups" / "Implicit sharing".

It's always a good idea to keep a printed copy of the emergency kit of the family organizer account + account password + printed qr code of your 2 factor authentication in case you activated 2 factor authentication, since the family organizer cannot recover himself.

You can also change some other member to family organizer. If you have two of them, they can initiate recovery for each other.

I always recommend every individual save their 🚒 Emergency Kit and record their password should they decide to do so.
