Offline. Changes won't appear on your other devices until 1Password reconnects.
Red cloud icon appeared in my macOS 1P desktop app and won't go away.
Message reads:
Offline. Changes won't appear on your other devices until 1Password reconnects.
Anyone find a solution for this? I see that it was listed as a bug many times over the past several months (all now closed discussions), but I'm not finding an answer today.
I can't think of any other major changes happened on my end that might have caused this.
To attempt to fix I have tried the following:
- Turn off network firewall
- Turn off "do not track IP" setting
- Switched DNS (1.1.1.1)
- Blood sacrifice to Gozer
1Password Version: 8.10.27
Extension Version: 2.21.0
OS Version: macOS 14.2.1
Browser: Arc (Chromium)

Hello @gkindrick! 👋
I'm sorry that you're seeing an offline message when using the 1Password for Mac app. So that I can better understand the situation, and provide a fix, can you tell me the following:
- Do all of your other apps and browser continue to have internet access?
- Are you able to log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app) using your Mac?
- Can you check to see if you've added an account to the 1Password app that was suspended by a family organizer or employer (if you're using a work account).
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dave.
- Yes, I have consistent internet access.
- Yes, the current issue is limited to my macOS app. Browser and iOS app behave as normal.
- I just checked and guess what... that was it! Logging out of my employer account allowed my family account to function again.

I'm happy that you were able to solve the mystery! I recommend reaching out to your employer's IT team so that they can check the status of your work account and fix any issues there.
Let me know if there's anything else that I can help with.
-Dave
