Windows 11 1password bug?

I have the 1Password app installed on my Windows 11 laptop. When attempting to create an account on https://www.mfg.com/ using both Firefox and Chrome, I encounter an error when attempting to save it to 1Password. However, I tried creating an account on my phone and successfully saved it to the 1Password app. Unfortunately, the saved login is not syncing to the 1Password desktop application.

I've realized the reason behind this issue. I recently installed Tinywall and forgot to exclude 1Password from internet access. However, I've noticed that even when I disconnect from the internet and manually create a credential, it still saves locally and reminds me that I'm offline. In contrast, when blocked by Tinywall, it simply shows an error screen and often fails to remind me that I'm offline.

  • Hello @Brrry! 👋

I'm sorry that you ran into an issue when saving an item. If you're using any type of firewall software then I recommend that you make sure that you've excluded / whitelisted the ports and domains that 1Password uses: 1Password ports and domains

However, I've noticed that even when I disconnect from the internet and manually create a credential, it still saves locally and reminds me that I'm offline. In contrast, when blocked by Tinywall, it simply shows an error screen and often fails to remind me that I'm offline.

It's possible that our developers could build better error handling here but I would need to see what's happening when you encounter that error message. As a start, can you tell me the following:

    1. Does the error message appear in the 1Password for Windows desktop app? Or the browser extension?
    2. Can you reproduce the issue on demand? Or is it random?

I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

Sorry for the late response. I didn't notice any errors in Chrome, Firefox, or even in the 1Password app for almost a month, until I realized that my recently added passwords from my phone weren't showing up on my laptop. When I tried restarting my laptop and installing the 1Password extension in Edge, I found a button to open the 1Password app, but clicking it didn't do anything until I randomly opened the 1Password app and saw a message at the bottom indicating that I was offline

Thank you for the reply. So that I can look into this further, can you reproduce the issue one more time and then I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Windows PC:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!
