Autofill not working on Galaxy S24 Ultra
Comments

I just loaded 1Password on my Galaxy S24 Ultra. When I click on an app's username credentials, and even when selecting Auto-fill, nothing happens. When I click on the password field, I get an option to complete using 1Password, or open 1Password. When I complete using 1Password, only the password is populated, and then I have to open 1Password, manually lookup the username, copy, and paste it across. Is this a known issue as well?

Hello @Wilhelm! 👋
I'm sorry that you're running into trouble with autofill on your Android device. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- Is autofill not working for the username field just in one app? Or is it not working for the username field in any apps and in any websites?
- When did the issue start happening? Were you seeing suggested for the username field in the affected apps/websites on your Galaxy S24 Ultra before?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello @Dave_1P
Apologies for taking so very long to respond to your kind support.
1. It only happens occasionally for some apps and mostly for usernames, but sometimes passwords as well, and I suspect it has to do with the fact that for some reason the 'fill once only' dialogue does not appear, so it has no way to 'link' the app to a username or password.
2. This happens on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, Pixel Pro 8, and Galaxy Tab 8.Is there a way to rerun the 'association' dialogue - where the 'Fill once only / Always fill' prompt appears - or to manually associate an app with a 1Password entry (like I'd do for websites)?

Hi @Wilhelm,
Usually, as long as the Open 1Password button appears at the top of your keyboard/below the login fields, when you tap this button, then search for and tap a login item from the autofill overlay that appears, the popup containing the Always Allow and Allow Once options should appear.
Tapping Always Allow would create the link between the login item and app, getting this login item to appear as an autofill suggestion when you next tap the login fields in the app.
This should be possible even with items that were already saved in 1Password e.g. login items created/saved for a website on a desktop device.
As this popup doesn't seem to be appearing for you, could you please share the name of an app you've noticed this issue occurring in? I'll try to reproduce the issue on my device to see if I can reproduce the issue.

Hello @BrendanR1P
Thank you for offering to help. I normally just open 1Password and copy/paste the items to any app where it's not working and then forget which app it was - I'm a bit like a goldfish! :\
To test this, though, I just logged out of Strava. Upon trying to sign back in, I tapped on the Email field first. This had no effect on 1Password showing up. When I tapped on the Password field, however, 1Password wakes up and provides a list of my saved 1Password profiles and the Open 1Password button. I selected my ID, and it populated the password field, but not the associated Email. When I click back on the Email field, 1Password disappears again. (I made a short video of this, but discovered I can't attach it here - sorry.)
This is only a partial behaviour, but I think it's a good enough example since it looks like only part of the credential set got saved and associated with the app. I'm still thinking an option to re-associate or add to app would be handy, unless there's another way, of course...
Let me know if there's anything else you need that could help.
Thanks!0
