Disappointed in 1Password 8

Consider this constructive feedback...

I delayed upgrading to 1pwd 8 (from v7) mostly because it was no longer available on the Mac App Store. And, well, I'm basically disappointed after using 1pwd v8 for 4-5 months:

-- Double-click on an item no longer does Open & Fill, but open the item in a new window. Why the change? I would have though most people use 1pwd to open web sites? And why not at least make it a setting?

-- Open and Fill fails about 50% of the time. This is a major regression from 1pwd v7. The web site opens to the login page, and I wait and wait. And nothing is filled in until I click on the username box and then choose the auto-fill manually in the web page. All this worked fine in V7.

-- I get extra (and spurious) popups from 1pwd when I'm filling in SMS validations (so I get both the Safari (correct) SMS popup and a useless one from 1pwd. I'm guessing this is for "true" 2FA (e.g. when using 1pwd as the authenticator app), but I'm not using 1pwd for this on the sites, so why the popup when it has nothing to fill?

-- Tag editing popup. Can someone explain the more or less randomly ordered list of tags that appears when you click "Add Tag' while editing an item??? They dont appear to be in any rational order (not recently used, not alphabetical). This makes finding a tag cumbersome at best.

I've used 1password since v2. it's been great. But frankly this all looks sloppy, and leaves me wondering how secure a product can be that seems to have so many rough edges.

Please try the following and see if it helps your experience.

    1. Please shift from the center column to clicking the link in the 3rd or last pane. That should open and fill. You are correct. This is a change from 1Password 7.

    2. It sounds like the login prompt is not in focus of something is pulling the focus away. 1Password is waiting till it has a clear indication of where to fill before doing so. If this is more than an occasionally site you might want to talk with our extensions team. Sites change themselves all the time. We may need to craft a special filling situation for that site. The team can assist you in gather the page details for submission.

    3. You likely want to turn off Show 1Password on-field focus. I have turned this off in my browser for exactly the same reason you described. Here's how to do that:

    1. Right-click on the 1Password icon in the tool bar and select settings.
    2. Select Autofill & save.
    3. Turn off this option. "Show autofill suggestions when a form field is in focus."

    1. If you start typing, the results should be narrowed down to what you type. Does that help? If not, I can file a request to have the team consider alphabetical. I can't make any promises, but I can get your request out there.
