E2E/Integration testing with OP extension

I'm maintaining a UI component library which provides a Password Input component, and I'm looking for a way to test the the support of this component with 1Password extension.

I'd rather use Playwright, but I'm open to other solutions as well.

What are the recommended methods to load the extension within a test (Chromium/Firefox on Linux), Authenticate automatically, and test Auto-Fill of the component?
