Greetings, hope all is well with everyone. I need help with a new problem, namely, that someone unknown to me has added a passkey to one of my gmail accounts. I'm wanting to delete the account, but every step I take to get to the point where I can do that, requires the passkey. This is an account that is rarely used, and the last time someone in my family used it was about a year ago. There's no sensitive information to be gotten on it that I'm aware of. I have posted this question on the Google Community site, but I figured this was a good place to seek help as well. :-) Thanks!

It sounds likely that the passkey was created automatically for you. If you scroll a little further down the page you'll see a portion for passkey created automatically on Android. That may be the situation here.

Belated thanks for your response. It was created for my wife by her employer, so perhaps they added the passkey after the fact? There is a security option to check for activity, and there's been none, so I'm not too worried about it at this point. Thanks again!

Hello all, new question. I have a few gmail accounts in my 1Password vault. When I try launch a particular one (let's call it Gmail1), the 1Password prompt which comes up at the "enter your password" moment (from the clipboard, I think) is the name of one of the other account (let's call it Gmail2). And if I try to launch a different account (you guessed it, we'll call it Gmail3), 1Password provides Gmail2's login. So for some reason, no matter which non-Gmail2 account I try to launch, Gmail2 is the default entry info. This is happening on an Android phone, a Galaxy S23 FE. I haven't been able to try in on a different device with 1Password installed, because said device's keypad is acting all wonky. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I recommend naming them like your example or a variation of it. I have my Gmail listed as "Gmail - Tom" "Gmail - Alt" etc. This will allow you to choose which one you're looking to fill.

Thank you for your response. In mulling my problem over, I think it might be that I don't have the same (or proper) Gmail login URL in 1Password for each respective account. At any rate, I'm not being taken to the Gmail login site which allows you to choose a specific account from a list, such as you described. So I'll look into that and see what I can see.

Update: I've made sure all my Gmail accounts have the same URL in 1Password, one which is the same as the Gmail login page. On my desktop & laptop (both Macs), I'm getting the desired result when I launch from 1Password, namely, that it takes me to the page where all my accounts are listed, which allows me to choose the desired account, with the password then provided by 1Password. However, on my phone (Android), I'm encountering the same problem as before, namely, that even if I launch from Gmail1's vault entry, the clipboard prompt from 1Password is the Gmail2. Very frustrating. Edit: I meant to mention, that on my phone, if I accept the Gmail2 prompt, but then delete it from the Gmail login window, I get a prompt for one of the other Gmails. And if I accept/delete again, I'm offered another of my Gmail. SO eventually, the email I'm wanting to launch becomes a choice on the clipboard. So that is one way to get around this, although laborious...

Okay, sorry to be a pain, but I'm looking for a post I'm almost sure I made, where I asked what steps to take if I think my 1Password account has been compromised. But I don't see that post, so perhaps I asked it elsewhere. Is there a link to what-do-do in such a situation. I know 1Password itself has never been hacked, and I believe that my info with them is encrypted, so is inaccessible via them even where they to be hacked? I have my emergency kit, so I know I can turn to that, change my passphrase, then change my passwords for my accounts. And I can come here for advice. Is there anything security-wise that I'm missing? What is the most common security issue people have had with their 1Password accounts? If someone has hacked my passphrase, and changed it, do I have any recourse at that point, besides contacting my various institution to advise them? I'm wanting to be prepared, so that I can react systematically, should I need to. Thanks. No particular hurry to answer this post.

The article below contains the recommended steps if you lose a device, and the same would apply in that situation too:
☞ If your device was lost or stolen, and it has your 1Password data on it
Happy to answer any questions. :)

Thanks! I'll take a look and let you know if I have any follow-up questions._In the meantime, here's another question, on a different topic. I have my 1Password extension set to lock after 5 minutes. However, it is not locking after that duration. I'm not sure if this is a recent development, because I always lock my session when I'm done. So it may be that it is the first time I have noticed it. If it helps to know, if I log-in via the browser, which is also set for a 5 minute log out, it times out as expected. I believe there is a difference between locking and logging out, but am not clear on it. Also, I'm seeing some notes under General and Security, about not being integrated. I don't know if that is a separate issue, and/or something I have to address. Thanks again!

Try restarting the browser and the 1Password application assuming you're using both. That may help resolve the integration trouble. It sounds like the browser recently updated.
