Hi @claudeb - I can see that one of my colleagues has since replied to your email, I'll also share a response here in case it's helpful to others.
The 1Password integration with iOS Password Autofill unlocks independently of the main 1Password for iOS app, which means that it will require unlocking each time that you autofill by tapping the suggested Logins or the "🔑 Passwords" button that appear directly above your keyboard or at the bottom of the screen.
That being said, the team here at 1Password are looking at ways to improve this in a future update. I've shared your feedback with them.
In the meantime, I'd recommend enabling unlock with Face or Touch ID, this will mean that you don't need to enter your account password each time that you autofill. If you're using Safari, then you can also use 1Password for Safari, which has its own auto-lock setting: Get to know 1Password for Safari on your iPhone or iPad
