Need autofill shortcut to fill name address birthday email forms but I can't get it to work

I am attempting to leave lastpass where I had a single hotkey I could press to autofill any name address birthday forms automatically. I am trying to use 1password and am having the following trouble:

If I use the autofill hotkey in the desktop app, it will not autofill forms but instead only offer a popup to fill maybe just the email.

If I use the activate browser extension hotkey, it will pop up the extension and suggest an identity to autofill the form. THEN I have to click that identity in the top right and it will autofill that information.

I NEED to eliminate this extra click. It's a terrible waste of time. I want a single hotkey that will fill this information from my single identity (or a default identity) into any web name address birthday form I come across. Lastpass could do this. So far, 1password can not. There are too many clicks, its too inefficient and takes too much time.

Does anyone have any solutions? If I can't get this to work, I will probably have to abandon 1password.

Thank you.

  • Hello @blauft! 👋

Welcome to 1Password! 1Password in the browser will suggest your identity when you click in the field so that you don't have to open the pop-up:

You can click on the suggestion to fill all identity related fields on the page in one click. You can read more here:

Can you let me know if this isn't working for you? I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂
