Disable sending autofill information with website URL
When I click the website in a login object, it adds a bunch of random text which I assume is autofill information
How can I configure 1Password to NOT send all that additional info when clicking the website URL to open the site?
1Password Version: 8.10.30
Extension Version: 2.22.1
OS Version: 14.4.1
Browser: Safari

You cannot. The string helps ensure the correct details are located to be filled. The next best option is to open the site manually and then action the login button and finally fill from the inline menu or the toolbar button.
My colleague Blake talks about it here: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/601271/#Comment_601271

Thanks...might be something to consider in the future

When you right click the URL, there is an option to "Open" versus "Open and Fill"
Useful, but would be great of we could choose "Open" as the default action
Thanks!

Out of curiosity, if you don't want 1Password to fill your login then why not just launch the website from your browser's address bar rather than from the 1Password app or pop-up?
Does the string in the URL cause any issues? Are you seeing it breaking certain sites? I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

I don't have any "bookmarks". I can click on the 1Password extension icon, search for the site by a few letters and click on the link...
The additional data has not broken anything, but it does cause some, not all, sites to open slowly. Right clicking and choosing "Open" opens them much faster.
The right click is not an option when opening from the extension icon.

Thanks for the reply. Would you be able to provide the URL of a website that loads significantly slower with the
Open and fill
option? I'd like to test this on my end so that I can better understand the situation. If you don't want to post the URL to the public forum then you can send the URL to
support+forum@1Password.com
and include a link to this thread. After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your email. 🙂-Dave

I changed my router from Safari to Chrome and it may no longer be an issue. That said, www.anthem.com and www.bestbuy.com seemed to open slower when the full autofill information was sent.
