Autosave gets in the way for https://www.fuehrungszeugnis.bund.de/

I am required to get a "Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis" for a new employer and wanted to request it from https://www.fuehrungszeugnis.bund.de/. It's the website of the german governmental Bundesamt für Justiz.

The process works without any login, but at the end of the process and after successfully requesting the Führungszeugnis, I am offered to create a login by the website, for further communication. This is where the trouble with 1Password begins.

Unfortunately, I didn't find a place where to create the account without first requesting some service from that website, so I can only describe what happened for me:

The account creation form contained 2 input fields for an email input (required 2 times to make sure the user entered it properly), as well as 2 input fields for a password (also required 2 times identical input).

  1. There was a huge 1Password prompt dangling down from the currently active input field, obscuring what is below, the whole time while I was filling the form. This is really annoying.
  2. The prompt offered nothing (because I didn't have any related account in 1Password yet)
  3. The incomplete form was autosubmitted as soon as I manually entered the first email-address and pressed TAB to get to the next input field. I did this 3 times for the 4 input fields, and it was always autosubmitting an incomplete form.
  4. In the password field of the website form, no generated password was offered by 1Password.
  5. I clicked the dangling 1Password prompt again, and 1Password offered to save a new account. However, in the browser extension password field I wasn't offered by 1Password to create a new password as it is in the desktop app. I had to manually start the password generator in the browser extension, then copy+paste it into the new 1Password field as well as into the website input field.
  6. Finally the form was complete and I had to manually submit it. No autosubmit. Which is ok, but worth mentioning that for every other field 1Password tried to autosubmit an incomplete form, and no autosubmit when the form was complete.

It's a behavior similar to an experimental pre-alpha release of a new feature. Not mature at all. It seems you need more login/account creation examples to polish that feature.

If you're not able to reproduce the account creation yourself, I offer to record and redo that account creation, but it seems it's only offered after requesting a new Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis, which costs 13 Euro on that website - the usual fee for that service. If you refund that expense, I'm available for reproducing the form's behavior.
