On the American Airlines site they ask for a "Last name". How to I get 1P to fill that in along with my username and password?

  • Hello @ajahn, thanks for reaching out.

You can add a custom field to your American Airlines Login item titled "Last name". Here's how:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Locate your American Airlines Login item and click "Edit".
    3. Click "+ add more" and select "Text".
    4. Change the "text" title to "Last name" and enter your last name below it. Click "Save".

    Here's a screenshot for reference:

Let me know how that goes or if you have any questions along the way.

That didn't work for me! I found another post suggesting I use the Chrome "inspector" and discovered that AA uses "lastName" for that field. I added that new field with my last name and it worked!

  • Hello @ajahn, thank you for your reply. I'm sorry that "Last name" did not work for you; I did not have an issue with that on my end.

Nevertheless, I'm glad to hear that you were able to find a solution to this. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything else I can help you with. 🙂

Let me mention that "Last Name" was already there under the section called "SAVED ON WWW.AA.COM" as many of the items I selected when setting up the account. Maybe I needed to create another "Last Name" in the DETAILS section. Could that be why it didn't pick it up? Obviously doing that would be easier than using the inspector.

  • @ajahn. I tested this again, and I was able to autofill as expected if "Last name" was under the "SAVED ON WWW.AA.COM" section.

Instead of inspecting a field, you could use 1Password in the browser to save the Login item manually. Here's how:

    1. Navigate to the website.
    2. Type in your credentials manually - don't click sign in/login.
    3. Right-click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and select "Save" > "Login".
    4. Save it as a New item.

After you've saved the item, if there were any additional fields, they should appear under a "SAVED ON ...." section.

    I hope that helps.
