Continuous authentication in iPadOS
Device: iPad Air 2024
iPadOS: 17.5
1Password: 8.10.32
When using 1Password on iPadOS, I need to authenticate on each step. First authentication on entering the userid and again when entering the password. I can do this using touchID, that’s fine but it is a bit cumbersome. On iOS and macOS the behaviour is different. When unlocked, 1password can be used to enter all credentials. On iPadOS I need to re-authenticate on each step.
It’s an annoying First World problem but I would like to find a solution anyway.
I have set the Security settings to never demand a password and Lock automatically after 10 minutes.

Hello @kennyvl! 👋
I'm sorry that 1Password is prompting you to unlock more often than expected. On iOS and iPadOS, 1Password relies on an Apple technology called iOS Password AutoFill to fill and save logins in other apps. Our implementation of this technology currently requires that you unlock for every fill attempt. However, this is something that our developers are working to improve and I'll let them know that you'd like to be prompted to unlock less often when filling login credentials.
If you're using Safari on your iPhone and iPad then you can use our browser extension to fill logins (rather than using iOS AutoFill) without having to unlock each time. You can find more information here: Get to know 1Password for Safari on your iPhone or iPad
You mentioned that you're not prompted to unlock each time on iOS, is it possible that you're already using 1Password for Safari there? I look forward to hearing from you.
