1Password does not recognize Microsoft Authenticator app on new Pixel 8a
I've just migrated everything using my sim card from a Pixel 4a to an 8a. I have 1Password through the company I work for and am required to use an authenticator app to log onto a new device. I had successfully used MA on my 4a but can not get it to work on the 8a. I have uninstalled both apps on my phone, tried different ways to log into 1Password, and scanned numerous QR codes. I tried to install a different authenticator through my company, Duo, and still 1Password does not recognize it. The error I get on the Two-Factor Authentication is "That code didn't work. Make sure it's for this account and hasn't expired." I have tried to get help from my company (pending IT ticket) but they haven't responded. Meanwhile, I cannot access apps on my phone using 1Password as a password manager. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hello @Iffbiff! 👋
I'm sorry that you're unable to sign into 1Password on your new Android device. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- Where did you originally save the 2FA one-time password for your 1Password account? In Microsoft Authenticator or DUO Authenticator? You mentioned trying both, did you save the one-time password in both apps?
- Do you still have access to your old Pixel 4A? If you do then can you try the one-time password in your authenticator app there?
- Are you able to log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)?
I look forward to hearing from you.

I originally used the MA on my Pixel 4a. I didn't save the one-time password for MA anywhere because I didn't know that was a thing. I use my emergency kit for the secret key. The 4a is wiped and being sent in to the manufacturer. I only loaded Duo recently to see if I could get it to work. I cannot log into my 1Password on any platform without the authenticator and I get the same notification. How do I recover the one-time password?

Thanks for the reply. You'll need access to the one-time password for your 1Password account in order to sign in on a new device or browser. If you still have access to 1Password on any of your devices then you might be able to turn off two-factor authentication from there: If you lose access to your authenticator app or security key
If you're using 1Password through your workplace then your administrator will be able to help you recover access to your 1Password account. You mentioned that you've already created a ticket with your IT team, I recommend that you escalate through that channel.
If you're having trouble with a 1Password family or individual account then let me know. 🙂
