OTP Security Key Import Support Request

When attempting to import one-time password (OTP) keys into 1Password, I encountered compatibility issues. Currently, it only supports importing keys in Base32 format. In contrast, keys exported from Google Authenticator can be successfully imported into Google Authenticator and can also be saved to the iCloud Keychain. However, 1Password lacks support for this feature. Therefore, I suggest enhancing 1Password's compatibility to include OTP keys exported from Google Authenticator, which would significantly improve the user experience.

  • Hello @lowiron! 👋

Thank you for the suggestion! I agree that an import of one-time passwords from Google Authenticator to 1Password would be useful and I've filed a feature request with the team on your behalf.

For the time being, you'll need to manually start replace your current authenticator app with 1Password on individual websites. You can read more about using 1Password as an authenticator here: Use 1Password as an authenticator for sites with two-factor authentication
