Long time personal 1P user, recently convinced my workplace to sign up, full disclosure.

I have to sign in to both to get both vaults unlocked.

Is this how it's supposed to be?

Can't one account be used as a key to the other? I mean, I hardly remember any password, and I'm not about to start with my workplace's 1P one.

So for now I have to unlock my personal, find the password for the work one, and then unlock the work one....

Would be nice to allow the ability to chain unlock , as long as any password policies or whatever is fulfilled by the upstream one.... <-- don't much care about upstream policies, as I'm already circumventing it.

Would setting the same password for both accounts work? The dialog looks like it's poised to open both.

Found these discussions about using the same password: https://1password.community/discussion/122984/unlocking-multiple-vaults .. hmm. wow. That thread is closed, but the solution is .. er... go read the thread. Overwhelming requests for an aspect of functionality, yet the product team couldn't be swayed to cater for the desire NOT to reuse.

  • Hello @ubbdee! 👋

Thank you for the question! The recommended way to use multiple accounts on the same device is to use the same account password for both accounts: How to use multiple accounts

Once both accounts are using the same account password, they'll unlock at the same time. Your account password never leaves your device and each account still has a unique Secret Key.

Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
