Problem with automatic PW validation

Hi, there,

I've been having a weird problem with 1password for a few days now.

When I want to enter a password on a site and I select the one memorised by 1password in the drop-down menu that appears above the field to be filled in: the password is copied into the field as usual, but the field is immediately validated as if I had pressed the Enter key.

There seems to be some sort of automatic validation of the fields to be filled in. This poses a problem on sites with captcha, in particular.

I've had a look at the settings, but I can't find any option to disable this.

Does anyone know of this problem?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello @fbaranger! 👋

I'm sorry that the new autosubmit feature is getting in the way. You can turn off autosubmit by following these steps:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Click Autosave & fill.
    4. Turn off "Sign in automatically after autofill".

This poses a problem on sites with captcha, in particular.

The team has an internal work item open to improve how autosubmit works with websites that use captcha and I've added your feedback there. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for your quick reply!

In fact, I had looked in the 1password windows options (the icon in the taskbar) where there is no such option.
I hadn't thought that the settings in the browser extension might be different.

    I'll try it out.

    Have a nice day!
