"Sign in automatically after autofill" should be per-site basis

The "sign in automatically after autofill" is great, however, there is a single site that I use where 1Password doesn't fill incorrectly due to having additional fields. Because I use this site daily, this has meant that I've had to switch this new feature off.

It would be better if this was controlled on a per site basis similar to other password managers.

  • Hello @davkean, thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the issue you're encountering with the Autosubmit feature.

Can you share the website URL so I can test things out on my end? If there is a problem, I can report the bug to our development team.

I understand the usefulness of turning off the Autosubmit feature for a specific website. While I can't make any promises, I've shared your feedback with our product team for further consideration.

I hope that helps. I look forward to hearing back from you and assisting you further. 🙂

I also have this problem, though it's a bit more nuanced. I work for Materialize, and in development, there is additional UI that shows up, which breaks the auto login behavior. I'm guessing it's related to the usage of shadow dom on this page: https://console.materialize.com/account/login. There is a button outside the shadow dom that gets clicked instead of the actual login button. The button that's incorrectly triggered is not a submit button, and the form submit is, which makes me think this feature isn't handling shadow dom correctly.

Are you filling your username and password, then manually entering the additional details? Are the additional details saved in your Login item but not filling on the Bank of Melbourne login page?

    Thanks for reaching out!

I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble filling on the Materialize website. I'm having trouble trying to reproduce the behaviour when testing, so can you reproduce the issue and grab a screen recording of the behaviour to share? Be sure to mask or remove any sensitive information, but include the full screen in the video.

Please send an email to support+forum@1password.com with a link to this thread. You'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I’ll be able to locate your message and send you a secure upload link for sharing the video. We can then assist you further there and share any necessary details with our development team.

I look forward to hearing from you!

@david.m_1P I sent the video, here is the support ID: VDI-56342-226. To reiterate, this is the local development version of Materialize Console, not the production version, which is why you could not reproduce it.

Thanks for sharing those details! I've located your ticket and it looks like a member of the Support team has already been in touch. Let's continue the conversation over there, so that we can prevent having the same conversation in two different places. 🙂
