Feature Request: Date field ease of use

I was adding some dates to an entry and have some suggestions to make it a better experience:

  1. Modal size: When clicking a date field, a modal window opens with buttons to scroll through months.
Issue: When selecting a month with 5 weeks, the modal size changes and the interaction buttons change position, making it difficult to quickly click through months consistently.
Suggestion: Make the modal a fixed size to account for months of any week count (4-6)
  2. Enable a click on the Month inside of the modal to allow for quickly selecting a month, for example:
  3. Further enable a click on the year in the month pop-up to allow for quickly scrolling through and selecting a year, for example:
  4. Allow keyboard interaction when the date field is clicked; for example, even with the modal open, the user should be able to type in "2024.03.15" or "2024/12/31"

Thanks!

  • Hi @justynr, thanks for reaching out!

I appreciate you sharing this detailed feedback regarding the Date fields in 1Password! I'm not experiencing the same trouble with the buttons to switch between months when the modal size adjusts. Can you clarify which version of 1Password you're using when you experience this?

As for the rest of the options mentioned, I've submitted a feature request to our Product team, so that they can consider those options.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Apologies on the version number, I had added it to my other post and forgotten to add it into this one!

    1Password Version: 8.10.35
OS Version: Windows 11 Pro (22631) AND Windows 10 Pro (I can get the build number later this week if needed) - it happens on both versions of Windows for me.

Thanks for including that GIF demonstrating the behaviour! I was able to reproduce this on my end when trying to edit the date of birth in a new item. It appears that this behaviour is related to a bug that's been reported to our development team. I've shared your experience with them and apologize for any inconvenience.

While I'm unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix, once there is one, it will be listed in our release notes.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with!
