This is what I’m trying to understand that is the date format solving such a great issue which takes more than 42 months? You’re nicely taking care of other real heavy stuff like managing passwords and for such a small thing which was never an issue in 1pw7?

But why tie it to location and language? I might change location a lot, but want to keep the dates in a consistent format. Also, as noted in another post, the fixed date module makes it a pain to change dates, e.g., for a passport just issued to replace an expired one, I have to click 12x10 times to get to the right date! Sometimes you just have to write the code yourself, instead of deferring to the package tools.

I've split this request into a dedicated thread to avoid taking away focus from the bugs being discussed in the other thread. The goal is to have 1Password respect the user's choice when it comes to date and time formatting so that you see the same date format in all of the Mac apps that you use, including 1Password.

If you select that you'd like the date format to be YYYY-MM-DD in your Language & Region settings in macOS then our team is working to make sure that that choice is honoured in all places in 1Password.

That being said, I've let the team know that you'd like to see a custom date format option just for 1Password. Thank you for the feedback. 🙂

Why link to system settings of any device? The format should remain as choosen in 1Password. This should not change. I may view my account on any device like iPhone, android, Mac or PC. The date format must remain the same. So why link it with language and region? It has to be independent.

At the moment, the 1Password 8 app is designed to respect the date format set by macOS (although there are a few issues where that might not happen in certain situations as you're aware and that's being worked on). I've filed a feature request with the team on your behalf to have them look into adding an option to set your own date format. There is precedent for an option to either use the system default or a user-chosen setting with language:

I may view my account on any device like iPhone, android, Mac or PC. The date format must remain the same.

App preferences are not synced between devices and I've let the team know that this is something that you'd like to see added in the future as well. Thanks again for the feedback. 🙂
