Hello,

Is the barcode on the emergency kit page really necessary? If I do not use it then I can store a printed copy of the secret key, etc. which people would not know what it was but I will.

    The code is a tool to facilitate signing in easier as it can be scanned b y the app and some of the details pre-populated. That said, no, the QR code is not necessary. I rarely if ever use mine. Provided you have the following recorded you should be all set.

    Sign In address = https://my.1password.com *If you are in another region it might be .ca, or .eu .
    Email address = Your email address.
    Your Secret Key = Your Secret Key.
    Account Password = Your Account Password.
