Suggestions sometimes not working

It's not clear to me why web login suggestions sometimes don't work. For example, for our website https://khnet.info.

In the login type record I have only username, password and website filled in. When I click on the 1password icon in the browser, I am not prompted to log in.

To test, I created the same record for the https://keepass.info site and it works as expected.

It behaves the same way in Windows 10 with version 8.10.35 and the current vivaldi browser.

Thanks

OS Version: Win 7

  • Hello @Ludvik. Thank you for writing in. I've tested https://khnet.info/nazdarek.php and haven't been able to recreate the same behaviour.

Have you experienced this problem on multiple websites or just this specific one? May I ask what steps you are taking when using 1Password to Autofill? When the Autofill suggestion sometimes does not appear below the field (screenshot below), does refreshing the page or locking and unlocking 1Password in the browser improve the behaviour?

I look forward to your reply.

I did some more research. I have lots of records (logins, etc) in the khnet.info domain (+subdomains). And in this case, the offered list is not sorted by relevance and the login is somewhere in the 30th place in the list.

It works for other entries, but they must also have a third level domain (aka https://example.khnet.info, this is a broken link). In that case there is no problem.

Setting the fill behavior to "exact domain" in 8.10 has no effect.

In my opinion, the problem is just using only the second level domain (https://khnet.info). Thus without www :-(

A partial solution is to set the record as a favorite.

  • @Ludvik,

At the moment, the display results in the username/email field (Inline menu) is on the following priority:

    1. Favourited items.
    2. Closest matched subdomain.
    3. Alphabetical.

    You mentioned:

Setting the fill behavior to "exact domain" in 8.10 has no effect.

To confirm, was this Autofill Behaviour rule set to all items with the same domain?

    @EvonG1P

I don't have autofill-behavior for all items. It was just a test. And I have a lot of items. They differ by subdomain, sometimes just the part of the URL after the slash. It's not public web servers, it's the infrastructure of a large metropolitan network.
But by default I still use version 7, where this option is not available (Windows 7).

So the priority in point 2 doesn't work properly on both versions. This problematic item does not have a subdomain.

  • @Ludvik,

I appreciate the additional information. The closest matched subdomain and the "Only fill on this exact domain" autofill behaviour rule do not count towards the subject path after the domain.

Would it be helpful if the autofill behaviour rule included subject paths? I'm happy to share any feedback you have with our product team on how we can improve 1Password's Autofill suggestions in the browser.

Yes, it be helpful. But I'm just not entirely sure that in this case.

  • Thanks for getting back to me @Ludvik. I've passed along the information about the relevance of autofill suggestions to the team for further consideration.

I hope the temporary workaround of favouriting the items is helpful in the meantime.

Let me know if you have any other feedback you'd like to provide to the team or if there's anything else I can assist you with.
