Safari password and TFA autofill fails to login on JustWorks.com

The JustWorks.com login system doesn't work perfectly with the 1Password autofill plugin on Safari.

Here's what happens:

  • Have an account on JustWorks with TFA enabled and stored in 1P.
  • Go to the login form, use the 1P plugin in Safari to automatically fill in the credentials.
  • The TFA page loads, clicking on the TFA code field automatically fills in the TFA field.
  • The browser returns on the login page instead of the normal JustWorks dashboard.

I have to disable the 1P plugin in Safari in order to log in.

Has anyone else ran into this problem?

OS Version: macOS 13.6.7

  • Hello @DamienMcKenna, thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the issue you're running into with 1Password. I've tested JustWorks and have been able to recreate the same behaviour. It looks like the Autosubmit feature is causing the issue here.

I've created an issue for our development team for further investigation and added you as an affected user.

In the meantime, I'd suggest temporarily turning off the Autosubmit feature or dragging and dropping the one-time password from the 1Password extension pop-over into the two-factor authentication field.

Here's how to turn off Autosubmit:

    1. Open Safari.
    2. Right-click the 1Password icon in Safari's toolbar and select the Settings option.
    3. In the Autofill & save section, turn off the "Sign in automatically after autofill" option.

I realize this may not be ideal, and apologize for the interruption in your workflow.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for confirming the problem and the prompt reply.

The workaround will help, it's quicker than having to disable the plugin entirely, and having to manually submit login forms is not that big of a deal anyway.

  • On behalf of Evon, you're welcome.

I have this same issue, commenting so I find out when it's resolved!

Thanks for letting us know that you're experiencing the same issue. I've added you to the list of affected users, and I apologize for any inconvenience. While I'm unable to provide an exact timeline for a fix, once there is one, it will be listed in our release notes.

FYI, also happening when logging into Aetna.com when it auto-logins after auto-fill. Turning off auto-fill also solved it here. Specifically at the Member Login screen:

Thanks for the feedback. I can confirm Aetna has been submitted to the team.
