2FA with security key - Unable to log in in the 1Password Mac Application
Hi
I'm running 1 Password 8.10.34 on my Mac (latest Sonoma) and I set up 2FA for my 1Password account using three
security keys (2x Google Titan and 1x Yubikey). Setup and registration in Safari went flawless and I can also log in using the security keys in Safari. However, when I now want to authenticate in the 1Password application (I need to, because I enabled 2FA), I see the security key popup window. When I then plug in the security key, touch the confirmation surface on it, nothing happens. This applies to all 3 security keys I configured. One sidenote: my security keys have a pin configured. Could it be a problem with that?
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Cheers, Chris

Strange... I reset the 2FA configuration in 1Password (on the website) and then readded all security keys. Now I could authenticate in the 1Password application on my Mac. This is not very comforting... it might be wise to spend some time debugging this process...

Hi
I'm running latests MacOS Sonoma 14.5 and I have set up a Yubikey as 2FA method in 1Password. Now if I want to log in on this Mac in Safari, I need to authenticate using the Yubikey. I get the MacOS prompt but immediately after I plug in the key, the prompt closes and the page does not sign in and tells me that "Request for security key was canceled". I have set a pin for the Yubikey and I don't get asked to enter it. Might this be the problem? Do you have any suggestions on how I can remedy this?
Thanks for the help. Cheers, Chris

Update: I also added 1Password itself as a holder of a passkey for 2fA for my 1Password account. When logging in on my Mac I can also select that I want to log in using my Phone and then I can scan the QR code which takes me to the passkey interface on iOS. I can then successfully select the 1Password passkey and authenticate on my iPhone but the session on my Mac does not log in. There seems to be something really screwed.

Update 2: When using Chrome on my Mac the key works fine. The weird thing is that on my wife's Mac on the exact same version of macOS and Safari with the exact same key, I can log in just fine.

Correction to update 2 (it seems one cannot edit posts here... the three dot menu opens only a empty submenu): my wife can log in to her 1Password account using her Yubikey (same model and config as mine). However, the behaviour for my account is the same :-(.
As soon as the Yubikey is plugged in, the security key prompt from Safari vanishes and I get to the state in the image above.

I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble with your security key when trying to sign in. In order to troubleshoot further and provide the best advice, can you reproduce the steps you're taking when trying to sign in with your security key and send over some diagnostics, so that we can take a closer look:
