2FA for Bitdefender not recognized in Watchtower

I used Watchtower today to set 2FA on all the sites that Watchtower told me. Later I found out that Bitdefender ( http://bitdefender.com ) has an option for 2FA (using email or a 2FA app), but Watchtower didn't show it.
Please add Bitdefender to the list of sites that support 2FA, if that's under your control.

Edit: Uhh, this is awkward now. Now that I have the Bitdefender site open, it suddenly shows up in Watchtower for 2FA. So I guess problem solved?

  • Hi there @honumael

The items in Watchtower that show "two-factor authentication available" are ones that appear on https://2fa.directory/ – a third-party service which offers its data as a feed.

This is something we mention in step 1 of the article, Use 1Password as an authenticator for sites with two-factor authentication.

I'm glad to hear it was offered to you eventually though, and I suspect it would do, given that it's likely to be in the top 200,000 websites by traffic, so that seems plausible.

I hope that explains things fully, but please do let me know if I can be of any further help. :)

    Hi @GreyM1P !
I see, so what’s displayed there is out of your control. Thanks for the explanation!
It was a pretty weird behavior. I was down to 0 2FA sites and then suddenly one more appeared after I posted this question.

  • Hi @honumael! On behalf of my colleague Grey, you're very welcome 😄 I'm glad to hear that the information was useful.
