Downgrade a member to guest
I see there is a path for upgrading a guest to a member, but what if I want to downgrade a member to a guest? I saw a similar question was asked back in 2016, but the answer then was "not yet".

The best method would likely be to take the following steps.
There is not a direct path forward but what you seek can be accomplished. Guests only have access to a single vault. Please keep that distinction in mind.
- Create a new vault in the account for them to use when they're a guest
- Make sure they copy any data they need from their
Private
vault in their account over to the newly created vault, as they will soon lose access to thePrivate
vault and its contents.- 2 a. Double check that all data has been moved in step 2.
- Remove the team member from your account
- Re-invite them to join your account as a guest
- Once they're confirmed and active, grant them access to the vault you created for them previously.
Please remember a guest only has access to a single vault.

Since I run a small startup business, on a starter pack with only 10 full licenses, making sure I don't go above the 10 full license threshold is paramount, and having to delete and recreate accounts as my relationship with collaborators changes actually would motivate me to find a different solution for secret sharing with collaborators, which would then lead to contemplating a new vendor for secret management entirely since federating secrets between solutions is almost untenable.
A fluent experience for me as a user of 1Password would be this -> if a team member only has access to a single vault during the billing period, count them as a "guest" until the 5 guest seats are filled. This way, there isn't even a need to distinguish account types, but just makes it usage-driven; if I want them counted as a guest, don't grant them access to more than 1 vault.
A minimum-viable experience for me as a user of the service would be having the ability to toggle the account type from full member to guest. The reverse functionality is present, so it seems this should be technologically feasible.
Is 1Password planning to do anything to make this a better security administration experience?
