Password generation instead of autofill on vivaldi.net
I want to report an autofill problem.
I recently tried out the Vivaldi Browser. I created an account on their website and set the 1Password URL to https://login.vivaldi.net .
Everything worked well for registration, and the general login to the site works as well (with autofill). But there's a catch: When you want to enable 2-Factor authentication on https://login.vivaldi.net/profile/2fa , then you have to enter your password on that page, and when you try to autofill that, it will instead offer to generate a new password.
The problem only occurs if the Vivaldi website is set to German (and potentially other non-English languages). If I change the site to be English, I can autofill normally.
1Password Version: 8.10.35
Extension Version: 2.25.1
OS Version: Windows 10
Browser: Brave / Vivaldi

Hi @honumael, thanks for reaching out!
I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble filling your Vivaldi password when trying to set up two-factor authentication. I can confirm that this is a known issue when the webpage is in a non-english language. I've shared your experience with our development team and I apologize for any inconvenience.
As you've noted, you can switch to English in the meantime in order to autofill the password to verify your identity and set up two-factor authentication for Vivaldi. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the password and submit the form to proceed.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

Hi! I don't need anything in particular. I just thought it would be useful for you to know that this website also has a language issue (not all websites have them after all).

Great to hear! I appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that we can share it with our development team while they investigate further.
Have a great day! 🙂
