Importing .1pux file into 1Password

I'm following the directions in the readme in the mrc-converter-suite to import the .1pux file I created. The 1Password desktop application keeps directing me to the website to complete the import, which will only allow me to upload a .csv file. Is there a step I'm missing? The readme seems to indicate I should be able to import this file directly into the app.

Thank you!

OS Version: Windows 10 Home

  • Hi @rararames, thanks for reaching out! After clicking ⋮> Import..., which option are you selecting? Choosing 1Password should provide the option to import a .1pux file - let me know if you're not seeing this.

That was the step I was overlooking...I was able to get it imported successfully now. Thanks so much for help!

Thanks for the update, and on behalf of Gem, you're most welcome! It's great to hear that you were able to import your data successfully.

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!

I have a similar problem. We are merging family accounts so I am migrating to an account managed by my sister.

I exported my vaults into 1pux file and added the new account using Windows client 8.10.46.

I select import/1password and this is what i get, the only option is to go to 1password.com

Then I get to the CSV import process.

The account that I am trying move to data from is already expired and frozen, but that should affect an active family account from importing right?

Thank you for reaching out. Since this is a new account that you're trying to import your items into, can you check with your family organizer that they've confirmed your new account from their end? They can follow the steps in this guide: Add and remove family members

Once they've confirmed you, try to import your items again. If you still see the issue, or your family organizer has already confirmed you, then please let me know.

Alternatively, if you add both accounts to the 1Password app, you can move your items from the old account to the new account without having to import and export:

    1. Add both accounts to the 1Password app
    2. Select the items you’d like to move
    3. Choose Edit > Move Item
    4. Select the vault you’d like to move your data to

    Hi Dave,

I just confirmed with my sister and she said she confirmed she already did that and I've asked her to double check as well.

As for the select item via Edit Move. Its not feasible for 2 reasons
    1. I've let the account with all the data expire since family planned this account merge so my Edit button is disabled
    2. Even if Edit button not disabled, can't mass move with that and I have hundreds of entries in my vault since I help my parents manage their passwords in my vaults on top of my own stuff.

My 1password install is old, about 7 years of installing on top of new versions. Should I just do a clean install and attempt again?

While writing this message, my sister double checked and confirmed she's already confirmed my account on her end.

@GreyM1P does a feature request to mass ignore Items in wrong account fit? My hand is cramped from manually clicking 400 items with 150 more to go =P

I can definitely pass along your feedback. Can you tell me a little more about what you're seeing, perhaps by posting a screenshot?

And are you using a 1Password Families membership? Or another type of membership?
