1P doesn't autofill android app even when the app info is linked in the account info.
I've been experiencing an issue with 1P autofilling which did not exist in the past.
1Password does not provide me the option to "fill and update" when logging into a new app. It only gives me the option to "allow once".
And even with some older accounts which do have the app info in the "Linked Apps" section, it does not provide the option to auto fill. I have to copy and paste the password manually... I have seen similar tickets related to the Chrome browser specifically, but I'm experiencing this issue with other apps (e.g. pandora, pocketcasts, etc..)
Scneario 1
- New account info created and stored in 1P via desktop/extension.
- Download corresponding android app for the service/account
- During the sign in process I select "Open 1Password" to fill in the info
- Search for the account info
- Select the respective account
- On some apps, the account info fails to autofill at all and I have to manually copy and past
- On other apps, the system only offers "Allow Once". Does not give the option to fill and update
Scenario 2
- Previously created account stored in 1P
- Account contains previously linked app under the "LINKED APPS" section of the account
- The app in question sometimes requires me to re-login
- Attempting to login, 1P does not provide me with the autofill option.
- I have to select "Open 1Password"
- Then manually search for thee account and copy and paste the password
- On some apps, the account fails to autofill just like in the 1st scenario
- On other apps, 1P offers "Allow Once" with the popup "1Password can't verify the app should have access to your...account" even though the app is linked in the account info.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
1Password Version: 8.10.38
Extension Version: 2.26.0
OS Version: windows 11
Browser: brave

I also have experienced issues with username/password filling in apps on my android phone. It sometimes happens that, even if an app is already linked to a 1password login, my login info isn't offered to me when I open the (banking, music, etc) app. It would be great if this were fixed, as it really slows you down to have to separately open the 1password app and copy/paste the info over to the app you want to log into.
Relatedly, I think it would be helpful to be able to add an app from a 1password entry page. This would be analogous to adding a website. I imagine clicking "+add more" while editing an entry in 1password and there being a "connected app" option - then we could be offered the list of all apps on our phone and select the appropriate one(s). This would be helpful particularly because when I'm logging into a new app on my phone, when I click on the username or password fields, sometimes 1password doesn't automatically pop up to allow me to search for an entry and then associate it with the app. So then there is no way to affiliate the app with the 1password entry, and we go back to copy and paste.

Experiencing the same. I'm only offered "allow once" and no longer offers "allow and update".
Relevant context: this only started happening on my new phone, a Pixel 9 Pro XL.
This is very frustrating. I've tried all sorry if things to resolve, but cannot find a solution.0 -
Same boat here. Only "Allow Once" as an option.

Also found this thread. I wasn't able to figure out how to trigger app linking, neither automatically nor manually.

Hi @tigran, @taym, @netrbrunet @CodesWithScissors & @idangazit,
Usually you can link a login item to an app to get it to appear as an autofill suggestion when you next tap the login fields within the app by selecting the Always Allow option in Scenario 2 mentioned by @tigran .
With that said, we've had reports from some users that the Always Allow option isn't appearing with only the Fill Once option appearing.
The popup missing the Always Allow option, only showing the Fill Once option would be our response to the "AutoSpill" issue. The issue could only be exploited under certain very limited conditions and the latest version of 1Password for Android mitigates those scenarios.
Since the release of 1Password for Android 8.10.30 onwards, you'll now be warned before you autofill if 1Password can't verify the app or domain. Although 1Password's autofill already required explicit user action, this fix enhances 1Password's security measures by ensuring that only the fields in the appropriate Android WebView are autofilled, preventing unintended credential entry into native app fields.
We currently have an issue opened on our end for our development team in relation to this popup with the Always allow option missing appearing unexpectedly in some websites and apps preventing you from being able to link a login item to an app for it to be offered as an autofill suggestion for future logins to the app and/or preventing autofill suggestions from appearing for the app when they previously appeared, which would be why you would need to tap a login from the autofill overlay then tap Allow Once to fill the fields of some apps every time. I've let the development team know you're encountering this issue.
If you'd be happy to list some apps you've noticed this issue occurring in, I'll be sure to add them to the issue on our end to let our development team know.
In regard to the fields of some apps not being filled at all, this can occur when apps prevent their login fields from being autofilled (usually in financial apps). If you'd be happy to share the name of apps this is happening for you in, I'd be happy to try to reproduce the issue and report the issue to our development team to let them know.
I hope this helps.

Apps I can think of off-hand that have given me issues are Aetna and CVS (pharmacy sign-in). In the past, MyChart was also finicky but I tried it just now and it worked, so possibly that was fixed.
I'll try to come back and post others as I encounter them. Thanks!0
