unable to find "create a new password" on the mobile app for ios

It appears that the only way to create a new password for an existing saved item is to first “edit”, then delete the saved password. Once deleted then the option of “create a new password” is presented. I wish this was easier.

  • Hello @TMGahagan! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! You shouldn't need to delete the current password, you can bring up the password generator by following these steps:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password app.
    2. Find the item, tap it to see its details, and tap Edit.
    3. Tap the current password and tap Create a New Password from above your keyboard.

Then follow the prompts to generate a new password. You can read more here: Use the password generator to change and strengthen your passwords

Are you not seeing the "Create a New Password" option when you tap on the password field?

    Sorry Dave,

When I'm using the IOS app for my iPhone, I’m not seeing any option to create a new password when I tap the password field.

When I tap the password field it says “copied”

When I press and hold the password field I get the options, Сору, Reveal, Show in Large Type and Pin to Home.

When I touch the three dots to the right of the password, I get the same selection.

Let me know if you have additional thoughts.

    Thanks,
    Theresa

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you didn't edit the item first, can you try doing that and then tapping on the current password? Do you see "Create a New Password" above your keyboard now?
