Product Suggestion: Store additional security questions & answers
Some web sites request additional security questions for recovery. Usually there are one to three of these questions, where I, the end user, must select a question from a drop-list, and provide an answer that I must remember.
I usually enter a false answer, since most of these questions (i.e.: "What street did you grow up on?") are easily found in various historical records.
I also suspect that these answers are case-sensitive, which is another twist to remembering the answer/
Currently, in order to remember these answers, I have to manually update the password item in 1Password to add both the sense of the question and the answer, in case I need them (hopefully never, since 1Password has the password. Although passwords sometimes expire, or get locked.)
I would like a feature in 1Password where the selected question and answer are stored automatically.
1Password Version: 8.10.36
Extension Version: 2.26.1
OS Version: Windows 11 23H2
Browser: Chrome, Edge

Hello @richsidney! 👋
Thank you for reaching out! Have you tried the security question feature in 1Password 8? 1Password can generate answers to security questions: Create unique answers to security questions
Let me know if that doesn't fit your needs. 🙂

That's what I use to save the data. However, it's a manual process. I am asking that the application automatically save the questions and answers when they are being set up, similarly to how the application saves a new password.

Thank you for your reply. After filling in the security question information, can you save a Login item manually from the 1Password extension? Here's how: Save a login manually in your browser.
Let me know how that goes.

Yes -- that is not an issue. The issue is, once I save the initial user id and password, I have to manually enter the security question/answer pair(s) manually.
My request is that your application detect and automatically save these pairs in the password record (for the site or application to ensure accuracy.

I understand that you're looking to save security questions automatically, rather than enter them manually in 1Password. I've submitted a feature request to our Product team, so that they can take this into consideration.
In the meantime, do you find that the questions are added to the item as auto-saved web details when you try saving the Login item for the site manually using the steps that Evon shared here?

Yes -- all of that works.

Thanks for confirming! You can continue to try those steps as a workaround for saving the security questions. If that doesn't work, then the best option at this time is still manually adding the security questions.
In the meantime, your request has been shared with the Product team. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!
