Will 1PW ever be able to "autofill/use previous entries" in Chrome

Hello, I'm in the trail period and about to commit to using 1PW. I use many websites where previous selections used to be autofilled or suggested by Chrome. Not talking about passwords. I now have to manually enter everything that Chrome used to pre-fill/suggest for me. In my line of work I use this feature all day long. Any progress? Or what am I missing in settings? Thanks.

  • Hello @BobbyGee! 👋

Welcome to 1Password! I'm sorry that you're not seeing certain types of information being filled. You should be able to save the same information in 1Password and have it filled for you. Are you able to provide a screenshot of an example of something that isn't being filled anymore?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Here is an example of where I used to have about 8 different pre-used choices in Chrome when clicking on the Search field.

  • @BobbyGee,

    Thank you for your reply.

It may be technically possible to get 1Password to fill in a variety of fields on a form, but that is largely dependent on how the form is coded. I reviewed the field on this page, and it looks like a search field. 1Password in the browser was not designed to offer suggestions for a search field.

While I recommend using 1Password to fill in your information and credit cards/addresses as it's often more convenient and safer to have all your data in one location, alternatively, you can turn off 1Password as the default password manager to continue seeing search suggestions in your Chrome browser.

    1. Right-click the 1Password icon in Chrome's toolbar and click Settings.
    2. In the General section, turn off the Make 1Password the default password manager in this browser option.
    3. Paste the following into Chrome's address bar: chrome://settings/autofill.
    4. Click Addresses and more and allow Chrome to autofill Save and fill addresses.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
