Unlock requires both TouchID and Watch approval

Since migrating to my new MBA, when I try to unlock 1Password, I need to use both TouchID on my MBA and double click my Apple Watch. I can't find a setting where it should be just one of the two to authorize the unlock. Any ideas?

I have seen similar posts but they involve sending logs to 1Password but no mention of how or if it's resolved.

  • Hello @dangreen! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to unlock 1Password using your Apple Watch, our development team is currently working on a fix. There are a few different workarounds that exist, so that I can identify the appropriate workaround for your situation (if one exists), I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I can use my watch. the issue is that I need to use both TouchID and the watch for each unlock. I'll send the diagnostic shortly.

Thank you for sending in the diagnostics report, I can confirm that it made it to the right team and one of my colleagues will reach out to you soon via email.

To prevent duplication of efforts, I'll close this thread.
