Issues with autofill and password save features

I've been using 1Password for many years now. Over the past couple years, the experience has consistently gotten far worse. The UI is convoluted and has WAY too many useless features. That said, terrible UI's aren't my main concern.

For the past few months, I've not had much success using 1password to login to virtually any website with any amount of ease.

I unlock 1password in a login field, but it doesn't show any options 8 out of 10 times.

It incorrectly autosubmits EVERY FREAKING WEBSITE with no ability to ignore specific websites.

I have several credentials that are password + token. Every time I log in get asked to "update the password" and it usually messes up the login process or mangles the page redirects and my account gets locked.

I now find myself having to type most of my login credentials MANUALLY because if I use 1password, it absolutely HAS to submit the form.

And until the last few months, I NEVER got locked out of a website. Now is a VERY regular occurrence, and I actually plan on having to spend an extra 2-3 minutes dealing with login issues.

What the heck is going on?

I get the feeling that it's a subtle hint to just use the built in keychain password management of MacOS. Sure it doesn't have as many features, but I don't have ANY problems with the passwords I've moved out of 1password and into it...
