2FA for my account where to store

I have turned on 2FA on my account. I have the code stored in a separed app. Do I need 2FA or is my account enough protected since we have to type in the emergency key everytime I log to a new unit. Just asking cause I use 1password for storing other accounts 2FA and I would like to only use it and dont have a separate app just for my 1passord 2FA account.
