Feature Request: Add the Option to Duplicate an Entry but not the Password History

In my line of work we sometimes have the need to template out a login and duplicate it many times to configure different user accounts on the same system. Metadata like the URL and related internal information will remain the same between each item, but key information like the username/password/item name will change.

I recently noticed that the password history gets copied when duplicating an entry which limits our ability to duplicate an existing entry for ease of deployment. Is it possible to have an option, a checkbox perhaps, to discard the password history when duplicating a password entry?

  • Hello @AReallySillyGoose! 👋

Duplicating an item will create a perfect copy that includes all of the information that the original copy had, including password history.

That being said, I can see the value of an option to create a copy of an item without password history and I've filed a feature request on your behalf with our product team so that they can look into this. For the time being, creating a new item and manually copying over only the information that you'd like to share is the best option.

Thank you for the feedback! 🙂
