Password Suggestion Enhancement

1Password can suggest great password that mostly match the requirements. However, these are random characters. Occasionally, I need to enter the passwords on a different computer that does not have 1Password installed. Hence, I mainly use the memorable password and set it as the default for password suggestions. Coming from Bitwarden, I know that these passwords are easy to read and write on a different system, while still being secure. But I could not figure out, how to add a number to those password suggestions. I have special characters, lower letters, upper letters, but no numbers. In the app, I simply generate a new password and add a number manually. But that does not work in the browser. I can either type it myself or use the suggested password. Both are not helpful.

I propose adding a number to the memorable password, to make it perfectly usable for suggestions while still being memorable.

  • Hello @johndoe2024! 👋

Thank you for the question! You can add numbers to memorable passwords generated by 1Password in the browser by following these steps:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar. Then click the menu button and then Password Generator.
    3. Switch the Type to "Memorable Password".
    4. Change Separator to "Numbers".

If you wish you can make this the default for suggestions. Let me know if you run into any issues. 🙂
