Passkey prompt missing in Firefox

I've currently got a number of passkeys saved in 1password and this works correctly on my iPhone and also in Chrome on Mac. But when attempting to log into the same site on an M2 Mac laptop (I'm testing with Github) 1password never displays the prompt I just get the following popup asking me to pick the Apple device or a security key.

On Chrome I get the 1password popup in the top right corner allowing me to click the sign in button.

In Firefox I'm using the default extension settings other than deselecting one Vault and the "Sign in automatically after auto fill" option. I have used these same settings successfully in Chrome.

    I'm sorry that you're unable to sign in to Github using a passkey in Firefox. I've just tried signing in using the following steps and I received the passkey prompt from 1Password:

    1. Go to https://github.com/
    2. Click Sign In.
    3. Click Sign in with a passkey.

    Are you following the same steps? If you then please check the following:

    1. Open your browser.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
    3. Click General.
    4. Make sure that "Make 1Password the default password manager in this browser" is turned on.
    5. Click Autofill & save.
    6. Make sure that "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" is turned on.
    7. Turn off the built-in password manager: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser

    other than deselecting one Vault

    Can you double-check that you didn't turn off the vault that contains your passkey for Github? I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks Dave, I've checked those settings and they all look right. I did just try to create a new Firefox profile and installed the 1Password extension and the passkeys work correctly so it looks to be something in my existing profile. I'll do some more digging in the Firefox profile.

    It's interesting that passkeys are working correctly in the new profile. Can you tell me the following:

    1. If you clear all of your browsing history/cookies/cache in the original profile then do you see any changes?
    2. If you remove and then reinstall the 1Password extension then do you see any changes?
    3. Are you able to use 1Password to save and sign in with a passkey on the following test site: WebAuthn.io

    Hi Dave

    I've worked it out, this is my work laptop and I have the Keeper password manager extension also installed in Firefox for work passwords etc. If I disable Keeper then the 1Password passkey popup appears correctly. I guess there is something going on with both being installed.

    I'm glad that you were able to figure things out! The native passkey prompt appearing when Keeper is installed is something that I've seen reported before. Thank you for sharing your findings with the community.

    1Password isn't designed to be used alongside another password manager and it's possible that having both 1Password and Keeper installed, or perhaps browser policies from your workplace, is causing the native prompt to appear.
