Hi there, I have sought to remedy the said situation by turning all the touch ID functions off and on back again. The 1Password is greyed out in my Mac.

I do not dare to reset my 1Password for fear of error. Having said that, I reinstalled Sonoma for my Mac as a fresh install and this is the unique context.

Any help and guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

  • Hello @bear67512! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to turn Touch ID back on after reinstalling macOS. Are you able to unlock the Mac itself using Touch ID? If you are then I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

    Dear @Dave_1P

    1. Yes I can still use touch ID but not with 1PW.
    2. Can i confirm the steps to create the diagnostics report is via https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/?
    3. Can i confirm that the report generated is "1Password.....diagnostics" which is a file size less than 4MB?
    4. This is my first time sending the report so the email is: support+forum@1password.com (asking cause I am worried of sending the wrong email to the wrong account. Pardon me on this.
    5. Kind regards.

Thank you for the reply. Instructions on how to generate a send a diagnostics report can be found here: https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/?mac

The diagnostics report will be a file that ends with .1pdiagnostics. The filesize may vary but 4MB sounds right. Please send the diagnostics report to the following email address: support+forum@1password.com

Include a link to this thread with your email. Once you receive the auto-reply please post the Support ID here and I'll be able to locate your message. 🙂
