Safari extension on iOS not working

I have a problem on iOS with the Safari extension. The button of the extension is always grey and not working. If I press the 1Password button in Safari nothing happens. The only way I can make the extension to work is to disable the extension, close Safari, open Safari and enable the extension. Then it works for this browser session. If I restart Safari the extension is locked again. Even unlocking the 1Password main app doesn’t unlock the Safari extension. I already tried to reinstall 1Password. But this doesn’t help.
