Passkey newbie here. Trying to set up my first passkey with Amazon.

The tutorial I'm following says that after signing in to Amazon with my normal ID and password, a 1Password prompt with just pop up, asking me to save my passkey in 1Password. No such prompt pops up.

In fact, the prompt that does pop up (attached) asks me to open Apple Keychain. There is no option on the screen save my new passkey to 1Password. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

FYI I am using a Mac with Safari browser.

1Password Version: 8.10.40
Extension Version: 2.27.1
OS Version: macOS 17.6
Browser: Safari

  • Hello, @Newbie2018. Thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the issue you encountered with 1Password.

As a first step, can you confirm if 1Password for Safari is running the latest version? -> How to keep 1Password up to date in your browser

Then, let's try the following steps to save a passkey with 1Password:

    1. Sign in to your Amazon.com account.
    2. Click Accounts & Lists on the top right of the header.
    3. Click Login & security.
    4. Click Edit for the "Passkey" option.
    5. Click Add a passkey.

The 1Password Save passkey prompt should appear on the top right corner of the page to save it. Here's a screenshot for reference:

Let me know how that goes.
