about how watchtower works

Hello :)

I have a question about Watchtower. As I understand it, the service alerts me when one of my login/password pairs is affected by a data leak, or when the website URL is affected by a leak. Is this right?

In parallel with 1Password, I'm also registered on Have I Been Powned: I was recently informed of a data leak on a site on which I have an account, back from march 2024. However, no information or alert appears for this item in 1Password. The verification of compromised sites is activated.

What could go wrong?

Thanks and have a nice day!

    Hello @Grishkaone! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! 1Password's Watchtower feature does make use of the Pwned Passwords service provided by haveibeenpwned.com. You can read more here: About Watchtower privacy in 1Password

So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

    1. Do you have all of the Watchtower options turned on in 1Password? You can find them here: 1Password > Settings > Privacy
    2. Are you able to share the address of the website that Watchtower isn't flagging? If you don't want to share it on the forum then you can also send it to support+forum@1Password.com and include a link to this thread. Then post the Support ID that you receive back with the auto-reply here.

I look forward to hearing from you.
