Just how secure are notes in 1P

Hi Guys.

I know 1P is end to end encrypted, but just wondering how secure that actually is.

Eg what if there is a rogue employee or contractor. Can they get access to our notes?

I use this to store our alarm code there for our holiday home as I can never remember it, and wondering if this is a good idea. Appreciate your comments.

  • Hello @bryce123! 👋

Thanks for the question! All of the information that you store in 1Password, including your Secure Notes, is end-to-end encrypted. Only you're able to access your Secure Notes and other items because only you have the secrets needed to decrypt your data:

    • Your account password.
    • Your Secret Key.

Even if someone on our end wanted to see your data they wouldn't be able to without those secrets. All that they would be able to see is encrypted gibberish that means nothing and can't be read. You can learn more about 1Password's security model here: About the 1Password security model

Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
